Hope for the New Year

A Message of Hope
Hope for the New Year

I am looking on a regular basis for migraine news, updates, research and I share it here and on http://www.mymigraines.com/
I also have a small site Really Long Link I am still working on getting respect for the reality of migraine disease. I will continue this for the New Year.
I look to the New Year with hope for migraineurs to get the respect and the help we so much need and deserve. Even though at times I get down times I refuse to give up.
So keep reading here and check out my other sites for info. I had a few months recently and some losses througout the year that dragged me down, but I will keep going.
Wishing everyone a Happy New Year!

Holiduhs

Holiduhs????
I dunno what's going on...do you?

Doesn't feel like holidays to me, more like Holiduhs. This time of year is just a bummer for so many people. I think expectaions are too high for most. There's to much pressure for others.
Homes to be too perfect, food to be just right. Buy the right gift, have enough money
Spend enough time with the "right people". Don't want to offen anyone.
Then there are those who have to cope with chronic illness, chronic pain. Pain flare ups.
Worrying if a migraine attack is going to hit and ruin your plans. And of course because of all the stress, that is an added trigger.
I say, take a step back and look at what is important, your health. It has to come first. If you find yourself in moments of panic, or "spaced out", confused, anxious, it's a Holiduh moment.
Take care of yourself. Don't put all the pressure on yourself or others to expect everything to go perfect. There is no perfect. And be prepared. If you have to cancel a planned event because of a migraine attack, then that's reality. Prepare those around you that it is a real possiblity. And do not apologize if this happens. And do not feel guilty.
Relax, enjoy. But if migraine hits, then put yourself first. Here's wishing you all the best over the Holidays and hopes for no Holiduhs or migraine attacks!

Oh the pain!!
Muscle Spasm Headache??

I had such a migraine attck last night along with chest pains. I got my head pain level down somewhat but the chest pains worried me. So, I finally went to Urgent Care. The doctor said he has had migraine an also Muscle Sapsm Headache, and that kind of headache could be much worse.
And that the chest pains were maybe a pulled muscle. They did an ekg and an xray. There are things I've been doing around the house that could've caused me to pull a muscle.
They gave me a shot for the pain. I'm glad I went. My brother had a stroke last 2 yrs ago and all they could say was genetics. He is just 3 years older than me, so I felt I needed to have it checked out. I'm glad I did.
