Botox for migraine:Back in the News Againg
September 13th 2008 17:38
I see Botox is back in the news again, for migraineurs.Hmmm.........and it may be approved by the FDA in a few years. And how many years have I been hearing this...at least since 2005.
I found an article Really Long Link This article is June 2005
Really Long Link This is about another study June 2006
Really Long Link March 2007 This article about how much it helped a woman when used. The end of the article:
"Plastic surgeons are not in the business of diagnosing and treating headaches," he said. "This is a novel method of treatment that is proving to be effective and potentially more long lasting than other things used before. But it is still in its infancy."
So,on we go.I used just the one site for info. There are many announcements out there on a regular basis saying how great the results are with the use of botox.
When I hear this and then there's another study saying that it may be approved in the next few years for migraine..what?
I guess I'll look for a new study, maybe I can get in on it.I don't have insurance, but even for those who do,very few could get it covered through insurance.I don't understand, with all these studies, all these years, the evidence is there that for chronic migraine,it may be the answer. What is the problem, what is the wait?
