Information is important

I know that stress is a trigger for my pain level to go up.And the weather.Well, being slammed with both puts my pain level to the top.I've also had something I've gone thru before, which is flu symptoms. And like alot of thing,it gets worse at night.
I had been to a neuro for a consultation awhile back and someone was to contact me about a cat scan.He thought my facial pain was sinus.Well, our hospital's been a mess,it's closed as far as admitting patients, until they can pass inspection. So,I thought maybe I hadn't heard because of the mess they're in.I called the clinic today and they told me the neuro office was to have scheduled it.
When the clinic called back, they said the dr at the clinic didn't feel I needed the cat scan because it had been for the facial pain and now they didn't feel I needed it.........ummmm I never said that pain was gone.I have to call back tomorrow and get an appt at the clinic to see the dr.
I'm patient with the clinic, they work harder than any dr's office I've been to...but the neuro,I had been to him a long time ago and already knew he was a dead end.My dad had him too,and this dr is an equal opportunity insulter, already has his mind up before he sees you and doesn't listen or care about what you say.
Now,the last couple of days I've had flulike symptoms, this is familiar to me.I had the same thing when my thyroid was wacko.I have Hashimoto's and it has made me really sick at times. The clinic didn't feel bloodwork was necessary.but I usually get it checked every 3 to 4 months for my thyroid.
For those not familiar with thyroid problems, migraine usually goes hand in hand with thyroid.Your thyroid controls so many parts of your body,I had no idea. There are thousands of people being treated for emotional, mental problems and it's a thyroid issue.I think after a certain age,it should be normal routine to check your thyroid. And I think people need to be educated on it.We're so quick to take a pill a dr will give us without question.Read up on thyroid and you'll be surprised how powerful it is.
I sometimes want to give up on getting anywhere with migraine, but I can't.And no matter how much of a pest we seem to feel like, you have to keep on top of a chronic illness. If you can't, try to have someone to do it for you. It's hard enough being ill,but it's that much worse to be overlooked.
