Vertigo,Migraine...

A new year...time for reminders, new information to pass along.
Many people who get vertigo have migraine..you may have migraine disease and later will get vertigo. Or after some time of vertigo, start having migraine attacks.
Here is one story I found: At first, Lori Taylor thought her intense dizzy spells were caused by high blood pressure.
But then she got hit with another symptom.
"I would get these vertigo spells, which would turn into this massive headache," she said.
At the Mayo Clinic, Dr. Scott Eggers says people like Lori who have migraines are three times more likely to suffer from vertigo than those without migraines.
"The things that make us suspect that a patient might have migraine-related vertigo would be recurrent episodes that are associated with some other migraine features," Eggers says.
Symptoms such as sensitivity to light, sounds or smells. It can be tricky to diagnose vertigo caused by migraines, and people who have it don't always get headaches with their attacks.
Lori says once Eggers figured out the cause of her vertigo, she got medication to help keep it under control, giving her a lot more balance in her life.
